I remember -- It's LFTP

I tried taring a directory and the process choked the life out of the server. UG! UG!! UG!!!

Try nice on whatever command you are using.

nice -20 tar ....


This will cause it to take a lower priority than other server items.

I'm using LFTP to backup the MXC to our NAS. It's slow (but a ton faster than a local download) and it won't resend into other directories, but it's working....

I gave rsync and scp a shot, but the NAS doesn't have SSH.

I finally figured out how to make LFTP transfer all of the directories. Because of the way I have to log in I have to use "mirror -R" (R stands for reverse)

It's backing up now.
