Arrow Resource for Liturgical Color

Hello All,

Here's a website I consult to keep myself in sync with the 'correct' liturgical color as I develop the presentation each week.

http://www.crivoice.org/colorsof.html

Enjoy!

well, starting from tomorrow, until CHRIST THE KING SUNDAY, it's green.

But liturgical colors should be changed according to church events. Liturgy should not be "dead" liturgy only according to the book.

Would you give us some examples of how you change the liturgical colors about according to church events? Do you mean other banners? I'd like to share your ideas with my church.

I'm not sure I follow what ABHin meant by changing them according to church events, but in our church we do have banners on either side of the stage with the liturgical color for the current season. As the computer operator on Sunday mornings (and consequently the graphics designer), I try to change what's on the screen (such as song titles, service dividers, soon to be backgrounds, etc.) to reflect the current season's colors. Hope that helps answer your question.

Ours in the Church of England are slightly different (e.g. Trinity Sunday is green), and are listed at the foot of this page or, worked out, interspersed among the lists of Collects and Post-Communions.

We are in 2008, we can fine tune the liturgical colors, according to different events.
For example, in some special days like Church anniversary, you can use RED/Gold to Show celebration.

I think that Liturgical colors should be used in the WHOLE church, including walls/decorations/lights to show the change, or else, the simple change to the banners, robes, choir dresses, could not be "Contrast" enough. you can check out this site... www.visualworshipper.com, i found this site's color change had created a great impact to me.

OR, even colors, we can use rainbow color, to represent salvation, instead of red and white....

Just remember to do liturgy in a WHOLE, but not parts.
Liturgy is LIVE!

Liturgy: is you any or is you out?
For years we used white for too many "special events".
Liturgy serves to remind the people of both content and context week by week.
