This'll be another based on two passages - Gospel and Epistle.

Emphasis will be on the relationship (inseparability) of faith and works,
reaffirming both justification by faith and that faith without works is dead.

Gotta work on sand metaphor a little...
building works without faith is building on sand,
but building a life of faith without works is also building on sand.

I need some good sand-castle-being-washed-away or house-falling-down-sand-bluff video!

Liturgy for June 1, 2008
Third Sunday After Pentecost

Text:
Matthew 7:21-29

Sermon Title:
“Where Is Your Home?”

Albeit my pastor is organized...the next 3 weeks may be a bit over the top in organization...May 26th is General Conference Week here in Oklahoma as well as everywhere else in the US for the UMC...laity and clergy gather to do the business of the church. So, there is a sermon for May 25th, be in OKC all week at General Conference, return on Saturday, sermon on Sunday...oh, then some preachers get to MOVE that next week...as assignments for the next year are made.

madill -just to be clear, I think you mean "Annual Conference".

General Conference is the once-every-four-year denomination-wide convention (which was just a few weeks ago).

Annual Conference is the once-per-year convention for the body called (ready to be confusing?) the Annual Conference, which in size is roughly the equivalent of a diocese or a presbytery.

In other words, if General Conference is analogous to the whole country, an Annual conference is analogous to a state.

Yeppers...my bad.

I actually went to one day of General Conference to hear the President of Liberia. It was in Ft Worth and some of us from my church took the train to go down there...it's about 125 miles from where I live.

Dan,
I played the video you have listed...I didn't hear a soundtrack. Are you going to play music behind it?
Thank for the research on the graphics. I plan to use them.
Tell me more about the Bible Video...

I'm sharing the prep notes used by my secretary, band, and computer operator.

I probably won't be using the video. I just offered it to my computer operator as a suggestion.

Pictured is the aftermath of today's all-age service. I wasn't preaching but the sermon was on Matthew 7:21-29.

Sometimes you just need to do something real and low-tech to illustrate the sermon rather than a video. This is afterwards, our children's Lego Quatro drying after washing to remove the sand...
