| Here's what we'll be using... Text: Matthew 6:24-34 Sermon Title: “Don’t Worry – God Is Faithful” It will be interesting where she takes this...we are soon to begin a building campaign. Also, I shared with her Mike Slaughter's money management book. (I'll look up the name of it and edit this with it) When I loaned her the book I said, "This may be too much for this church...most of the congregation isn't going to want to hear what he says". That certainly piqued her interest...she ended up buying her own copy. We will also be honoring our service men and women as I run their names and addresses on the screen. We're also collecting goodies for them. |

| I'm going with the Isaiah reading and the idea that God has us inscribed on the palm of his hand. With apologies to the Rolling Stones, I'm going to call it "Tattoo You" (as in "You are the tattoo") I may use the 77's song "Tattoo" in relation to all of it. I'll cross-reference the gospel reading, expanding the idea that God's love (as displayed in the hand inscription) naturally extends into his provision for us, as Jesus spoke of. We'll also have some memorial day reference, as we have a group of retired Marines always come on Memorial day and present colors for us. I'm probably going to tie the tradition of tattoo'd servicemen into the whole thing. That's pretty darn cool, given God just gave it to me now as I started reading this thread. The inspiration of the Holy Spirit - what a blessing! |
