Which Lectionary do you use?

If it's "other", please be sure to list which one...

"None" isn't listed as a poll option, because the poll is being posted in the Lectionary forum.

I've lumped Anglican Church of Canada, Church of England, and Episcopalian all together. I hope that's not too thoughtless of me! (Please be kind enough to explain the differences in their lectionaries for me.)

We use the Church of England's Common Worship Principal Service lectionary. Most of the time this is the same as the RCL, with minor differences which are outlined here.

The lectionary from the 1662 Book of Common Prayer is also still authorised for use but we don't use it in this parish.

We are allowed to disregard the lectionary entirely during Ordinary Time (for Communion services), and at non-eucharistic services after Trinity up to the Third Sunday of Advent and after the Baptism of Christ until the 5th Sunday of Lent. We take advantage of this liberty from time to time especially if large numbers of children or otherwise unchurched folks are present and the set readings might prove tricky.

I think that gets included under "none".

Dan just spelled it wrong it's Dictionary!
No, just joking if I understand it correctly (because I've never used one) it's a kind of guide as to what subjects/parts of the bible you would speak on each week.
Perhaps the esteemed Rev. Roth would explain it for those of us who don't use one but are curious (or just want some added info for trivia night)

Thanks, Lucas, I feel SO much better now that I'm in SUCH awesome company

Danroth ... when someone adds "none" to the list, I'll vote for it. Evidently Lucas will, too...

Well, I now know what a Lectionary is.
Even though it won't help me knowing what my pastor speaks abouteach week in any way shape or form.

Is it considered bad practice to take a peek at how the sermon ends?

My preacher emails me the sermon in a Word document with the parts she wants on the screen in bold...so, I get a sneak peek of the sermon each week. It helps, besides preparation time, but to get a "feel" for the graphic I need.
