replace projectors

Greetings to all!
I know just enough to get me into trouble with the media at the church! Our projectors have long out lasted their productivity. I was not involved with the media at that time when they were installed over ten years ago. From doing some study on projectors. I think the lumens that we need should be ok at around 2500. Our current projectors are ceiling mounted and a scaffold has to be erected or a high lift has to be used to reach them. The projectors are about 30 feet away from the screens. I think it would be wise on my part to find a business that would be able to sell, install these projectors, and service them. I am a klutz and would hate to drop one and have to get the church to buy another! I would also rather pay someone and get it done right the first time! Are there any brands that you would recommend that have a long bulb life and dont need as much maintenance? I see so many different types of projectors with different abilities. We use powerpoint, easyworship and videos through these projectors. Any suggestions or advice would be most appreciated! I should have never volunteered to help with the media...now I'm in charge!

2500 lumens? you must have small screens or very little ambient light...

Brands - I've had good luck with BenQ, NEC, and Mitsubishi. Bulb life is pretty variable, and in my experience, doesn't have anything to do with brand... It has to do with proper shutdown and luck.

Maybe one of the STL area guys can recommend a local installer to call. Before you tell them you need 2500 lumens, I'd let them figure out what you need.

Go Cards!

Yeah, I would get a professionals advice. 2500 is pretty low for a 30' throw.

OK..I think

Thanks for the quick responses...I think that I was looking at the 2500 lumens for the price factor more than anything else...the projectors are above the lights and none of our lights are pointed directly at the projectors...anyway will let you know what I find out soon...thanks
