playing mpg in keynote

Hello

Before I switched to a Macbook I used some mpg files that I downloaded from a site (www.reelworship.com) in powerpoint. They were very simple Christmas loops. In Keynote it appears that you can overlay text over a movie file, which you can't do in Powerpoint (at least ppt 2003 - don't know about 2007)

I don't seem to be able to use them in Keynote. Is it their format and does anyone know whether I should be the mpg-2 add-on for Quicktime?

The files won't even play in Quicktime, though they do open and play in VLC. They are not available for import into imovie or similar.

Many thanks if you know the answer to this question.

Deborah

If Quicktime won't read them, then Keynote won't. Apple uses codecs from Quicktime to play videos in other programs. You may need the MPEG-2 codec or you could get something like VisualHub to convert the files to an H.264 file.

The Full Version of Quicktime also plays MPEG-2 Videos.

Cheers
