| Question about hiring staff fron Non-Profit Hello. Newbie here. I am a high school basketball coach in North Georgia. I have a heart for missions and have been on many mission trips. In 2008, I felt a calling to combine my talents and passion for missions and create a Non-Profit Ministry called Whosyourcoach. I have a page at dot org. Sorry, not trying to promote. We took our first trip to Thailand with 6 people in 2008. Last July, we took 22 people to Costa Rica. Our target is high school and college student athletes who have an interest in the ministry. We travel to other countries and use basketball, soccer, other sports as a way to introduce Jesus Christ to our brothers and sisters in other countries. I try to speak at all of the local schools Fellowship of Christian Athletes Huddle groups. I also speak at local youth groups. The problem is that I just dont have the time to get out to churches, schools, and youth conferences that I need to make Whosyourcoach successful. I have 20 years in coaching and I am ready to make this my full time ministry. I have a vision that I want to fullfill. I am trying to figure out how to have a staff. How to pay them. We are working on a booth now for conferences that we plan on attending this year in our region. We want to make a promo video. (Besides the one I made on iMovie) I am thinking that I can hire some Whosyourcoach Reps. Let them attend conferences, speak at schools and youth groups. Basically a sales position. 100% commission. Say someone gets 100 people to go on our trips in one year and I pay them 300.00 per student. That would be 30k for finding 100 people. Does this sound reasonable? You dont have to be in my state to do this job right? I got a call from Score International a while back after they saw my web page wanting to plan my trip. It was one of their reps just cold calling. Is this how I should proceed? I really look forward to some guidance. Thanks in advance for your response. |
