Worship Director job?

hI, My church is looking to hire a part-time worship director, the problem is that we never had one before, so we are just wondering what exactly are the responsabilities, duties, tasks for this position, and what is the wage that is involved with this job? what is an estimated rate?

Hey Odrautse! There are many variables that may make some of your questions difficult to answer but I'll give it a shot and hope that it helps you. One of the primary responsibilities would be to help organize and lead the service of worship with your pastor. This preferrably should be someone with a knowledge of music and a singing ability (though I have seen worship leaders and music directors that didn't sing a lick, just directed). Do you have a church choir, children's or youth music program, a worship band, or church musicians? Your worship leader will need the leadership and organizational skills to help these people use their gifts in ministry effectively in focusing the congregation towards the goal of worship and service to God. Dependant upon your circumstances there could be other tasks as well. As far as the pay goes, that would be very hard for me to answer. I would hesitate to even make a guess because there are so many different things that factor into each individual equation. I hope this helps!

yes thank you for your reply, now i guess I forgot to mention, that we have 3 worship teams that rotate during a month, and that each team has a leadear.
