How do I get a job?

I've been volunteering for the church for years. I do PPT's (music background, specials, some sermon presentations), photoshop work (have designed and done CD and DVD covers, backgrounds, etc.), and various other things (sound and lighting, some editing, recording, photos, etc.). I am currently looking for a job, but it must be home-based (a disability comes into play here). How in the world can I parlay all this that I have learned and done into a "resume" and find work? Except for the church, I don't have a lot of experience in these areas.

Go to elance.com or findafreelancer.com to find work.

Many of the gigs there are tech/PC/media based and the transactions are usually done online. Due to the competitiveness, it's not a lot of work or a lot of money initially (until you build up your reputation) but they are indeed two work-from-home sources that deliver results.

You've also got to be a self promoter about your abilities. Naturally you shouldn't be doing business marketing at church, but when opportunities present themselves in conversations, don't be afraid to let people know you do this sort of thing for-hire too. Even if the person you are talking to doesn't plan to hire you, they may know someone who does.

I've actually tried to do that very carefully. (I need to be careful. . . I tend to come across as a bull in a china shop). I've done all sorts of work for members of the church. . . . . gratis. For non-profit organizations, for certain businesses "attached" to the church (for instance, our church offers music lessons, as a separate business but supported by the church), for certain projects a pastor there may be working on, etc. In fact, I always seem to be working on *something*. And, it's been going on for years. So, I should have enough of a track record and experience (and reputation) to be able to do something to help pay the bills.
