Our church charges 100.00 for a sound tech if the wedding is someone outside the church membership. This money goes to the tech for their time. If it is someone from the membership, we accept whatever they want to donate to the Media Ministry. This money goes toward funding for media equipment.

Isn't it funny how people in general - and brides in particular - expect to pay for almost everything associated with the wedding ... except the tech people's time. Do we not value their work?

Brides will pay thousands of dollars for a wedding gown, hundreds or thousands more on flowers, they're willing to pay the pastor, the organist and vocalists, but they don't want to kick in a mere $50 for the sound tech.

I've seen it repeatedly, but we've pretty much been able to get them to see the error of their ways. Hasn't been much of a problem during the last couple of years, but there was a time...
