I'm very happy for you. This is a fun time when you connect this stuff up for the first time and start to realize all the potential.

When you plug the usb interface into the computer it will be seen as an additional COM port. When you start the software you will need to tell it what COM port the usb interface is plugged into.

Then you will decide on a DMX address for your lights. Each light will use up multiple DMX addresses. If you set the addresses for multiple lights to the exact same address then those lights will behave exactly the same way all the time. If you select a unique address for each light then you can program them to be the same or different. Use the manual that came with the light to set the dip switches or digital menu on the light to the address you selected. For example: Your usb interface will probably give you 1 universe which is 512 channels of DMX. If your first light uses 8 channels then your second light should be placed at address 9 and so on.

Then you will connect the usb interface to the first light using a DMX cable. Then connect the first light to the second light using a DMX cable and so on until all the lights are connected.

As a beginner you should be aware that many lights require that more than one channel is set in order for you to actually see light. This can be a little strange at first but you will get used to it.

That should be enough to get you started. If you get stuck please don't hesitate to ask.
