| Leprecon LP-X24 moving light programming Hello all, I have been a low voltage control tech for 30 yrs., but I am new to stage lighting. My church has asked me to add two Chauvet 1500CM's, and three American DJ scan 250's to our system. I have installed the new 110v circuits, installed the DMX cables, terminated, and addressed the units. The LP-X 24 did not have these devices in its library, so I had to create my own profiles. After creating a new patch, I was able to control the stage wash RGB's through the manual faders. The three moving lights are giving me grief. I have assigned the three DJ scan lights to individual ML select buttons, but cannot seem to figure out the rest of the programming. I have attempted to create labels, looks, and playbacks, but cannot figure it out. All I want to do is to manually select and control the moving lights. I can patch the 4 dmx channels to individual faders, and I have control of all functions. I don't have enough spare faders for all three lights, and I am sure this is not the proper way to do it. I assumed the rotary dials would be used for pan, tilt, and gobo. If anyone has any tips for me, I would sure appreciate it. Thanks, Richard |

| Okay, keep in mind I am speaking in general. I used an XP24 but it was quite some time ago. Do you have a monitor hooked up to the console? Most moving light consoles when you select the units, you have the ability to control all the constructs through the rotary dials, but you have to have a monitor up to know which set of constructs you are controlling. You can then program what are called "palettes" (which is simply a set of information stored to a place in the controller that you can recall at the touch of a button) which are used to create cues. Then you store a series of cues into a cue stack. That cue stack is stored in one of the faders which you use to run it. I will have a look later at the user guide and see if I can get you anything more specific. In addition lighttrainer, com (I believe that is the site) is a wealth of good information. Mike

| LP-X24 Mr.Light, Hello, a LP-X48 would be nice with more sliders and selects, but the X24 suites our needs. Eso, I took a monitor, keyboard and mouse with me one day, but I never needed to hook it up. We have not had any problems controlling everything from the console. Richard |

| Cool. I can't imagine using a moving light console without a monitor. *lol*

| Hey, great timing mrlight, I was just about to start a thread on ML's with the X48. I'm new to programming movers, and I have a question. I understand moving from cue to cue and that sort of programming, but is it possible to program sweeps and things like that with the LP-X consoles? Building cues like keyframes doesn't seem like it would be smooth enough. What's the best way to go about this? |
