DMX settings for Chauvet Intimidator Spot 250

I've recently inherited 4 chauvet intimidator spot 250s as well as chauvet show express. I know that each fixture can be controlled seperately, but i'm having issues with it.

i have no clue which mode each fixture needs to have selected. The manual says all should be set to slave. however, when i do that, i control all fixtures when i'm only changing one fixture's value. say i try to change fixture one's color. when i try all other fixtures change as well. when i try to change either 2, 3, or 4's color none of the colors change. It seems that fixture one is a master to the others. it shouldn't be since it is set to slave.

i know that show express lets you choose keystrokes to highlight specific fixtures. if i want to control all fixtures, i hit a. if i want the front truss, i hit f. none of those are selected, so i know that isn't the problem.

anyone had similar problems, or know of the solution?

after much frustration. i decided i was going to reset them and walk away for a bit. after resetting them i noticed it asked for the fixture id. i entered it in and selected it. the problem seems to have fixed itself. i'm not sure why i waited a couple of hours before trying to reset, but live and learn i guess.

Glad you got the problem fixed, but this seems sketchy to me. If you're controlling all the fixtures from the show express, none of them should be in slave mode at all. They should all be in DMX address mode (either 10 or 14 channel mode). Then they should be addressed independently.

If in 10-channel mode, fixture 1 should be set to address 001. Fixture 2 should be set to address 011. Fixture 3 = 021. and Fixture 4 = 031.

In 14-channel mode. Fixture 1 = 001. Fixture 2 = 015. Fixture 3 = 029. Fixture 4 = 043.

Hope this helps.
