MAC 2000 gobo wheel malfunction

I have 4 MAC 2K's PROFILE. There are three that function just fine. Mine marked 2001 has a gobo wheel issue. It doesn't recall presets properly, and at "home" my beam is a green gobo. The wheel in question is GOBO 3. Please help! Is it a hardware issue, or do i have a setting tripped in the grandMA console?

Sounds like hardware. But might not be. Power it up with no DMX and see what happens.

Is it kosher to just remove that GOBO wheel so as to operate my show without conflict of a malfunctioning Magnetic Index? just yank the sucker?

Yeah, you can pull it. There are about 4 possibilities of what it could be.

Martin and Lightparts are pretty cool and accurate at tech support calls...

Bad Motor? (can you turn the wheel by hand or is it locked up?)
Driver Chip?
Wiring harness from logic board to motor?
Malfunctioning sensor?

You can swap the lines out of the logic board from one motor to the next and see if the motor does anything.

I don't know 100% if that will work... if you take the gobo wheel completely out, it may confuse the fixture and make it think there is a big problem and not lamp on after homing.

Call Martin tech support.
