External HD sharing

I set up new user accounts for youth ministry on our main worship iMac. This was against my better judgement but I'm okay with it as long as they cannot access my external HD. That's where I keep all my video and graphic files. How do I set the external HD where the new users won't be able to see it or access it when they log on? I set them up on standard accounts and also set the sharing permissions on the HD to read only. Am I missing something? When I log on as a user I can still access the drive.

You should have a "no access" option.

There is a no access option for "everyone". I have it set to that. It still shows up on the user desktop and is accessible.

Did you set up your users with administrative rights, or restricted rights?

I found out what I was doing wrong. I was listing the accounts in the box. I took them out and it worked. I got the results I wanted. Thank you Cory!

Glad you got it figured out. I was going to suggest an even more foolproof security measure: unplug the drive and take it with you.

That would have been the easiest solution . But, I have it partitioned and am allowing them access to one half of it. This is part of the whole youth thing you helped me with the other day. I got it done. Thanks guys!
