Mac DVI output to analog RCA

We have a JV service for our younger teens in our youth building cafe. There is big screen tv we use for videos and such. We have recently tried to use ProPresenter with our MacBook to display on the tv. We have tried a GigaWare PC to TV converter, basically VGA to RCA or SVideo. We have had nothing but problems getting it to work correctly. We have the display settings correct in ProPresenter and on the Mac. Usually we have to reboot or cycle power on the converter to get it to finally work.

Does anyone have a product they have used successfully for this application? Thanks

What available inputs do you have on the TV? Just the composite RCA?

First thing I would try is setting the Laptop to a low resolution, say 800x600. Cheaper scan converters often don't do high resolution well, or get confused when you try to feed them anything but a 4:3 signal (which the mac isn't) I assume you are running using an extended desktop, not cloned screens?

You could also try this:
http://store.apple.com/us/product/M9...co=MTA4MzU1NjA

It works pretty well for us...note, it's DVI not mini-dvi or display port.
