Convert Video to .wmv on Mac

Anyone have inexpensive or free suggestion of how to output video master to .wmv file on Mac? Only first 30-seconds of 4-minute master will convert. I've tried FCP, MPEG Streamclip & QuickTime Pro. Also have a PC available. This is very rare & a volunteer job so prefer "free" if possible.

I conceded defeat on a number of areas and I'm putting windows 7 on my MAC.
While I am liking the MAC more and more there are some things that you need windows to accomplish.

I'm pretty sure WMV is a licensed codec, or at least if its not running on the windows platform, so I think I free program for mac might be out of the equation.
Have a look at: http://www.xilisoft.com/video-converter-mac.html

It claimed to be able to do WMV, but i'd check out the demo first to make sure it does a decent job.

Microsoft offers Windows MediaŽ Components for QuickTime by Flip4Mac™

Flip4Mac has more full featured products.

Looks like you can play for free and convert to Quicktime for $29.

You'd have to look at the chart to see what level you'd need.

Sorry, just read Jon's response. Didn't mean to duplicate the info.

If you have a PC available, download Super. It's a great little program for converting just about anything to anything.

(Just a word of warning, it's about the worst website design ever. You have to click through several pages to get to the actual download.)

That looks like quite a find. I think I'll be putting that into my toolkit.

I just drag .mov files to Compressor and select .wmv as my output format. (Is that only available because I have Flip4Mac installed?) Works every time!

Wow. I totally misread the post and thought she was going the other direction.

Broke down and paid $49 for Flip4Mac .wmv... it worked. . . but the results are totally unacceptable and exceed the website's upload limit. This problem may not be resolvable.

Thanks for all the suggestions!

Interesting. 4 minutes? What is the website's upload limit? The last .wmv I converted was around 2 minutes and I believe came out to about 50MB.

I have used After Effects to do this before. Might be way over kill.

Here is a major problem with Mac & PC. Not all codecs for Quicktime are on the PC and not all WMV codecs are on the mac.

What I recommend exporting using the mac quicktime h264 files and then using a pc to convert them to the WMV desired.
