PCI cards or pc cards???

I just bought a pci card for a macpro and it won't fit!

What kind of card do I need for a macpro? The card said it wouldn't be compatible with pci-express cards, is that the card type that I need on a macpro?

You probably do need a PCI-Express card .. a quick look over at Apple shows that they only have x4 and x16 slots on the new Mac Pro.

PCI-E x16 is probably the easiest way to go, if you have one open. x1 and x4 cards seem less prevalent.

I'm not a Mac guy (nothing against Mac... just never used one) but you can probably determine which type of expansion you have here:

... and see what your expansion slots look like.

As for PC Card, those are the small things for laptops... they used to be called PCMCIA cards, which stands for "People Can't Memorize Computer Industry Acronymns"
