That's a good idea, however, my coax connections are split and distributed at various points all over the campus. There aren't any home runs going back to the source. This would be useful if I could put a receiver at each of the 40+ televisions with one transmitter.

Be careful: some HDMI converters don't pass the copyright protection flag seamlessly, with the result that only content that isn't protected can be seen.

We've recently begun using the ZeeVee Pro 280 to distribute HD video over coax to various TVs throughout our facility. The picture is great, and it works just like the old "in house cable TV" systems, other then the fact that you need amplifiers/splitters, etc that handle the HD signals. Also, your TV needs to have an ASTC tuner in it as well.

A $500 AJA converter will change your HD-SDI to component for the input.

AJA's pretty cost-effective... we have a lot of their stuff in our HD production control room. Black Magic Designs also makes some pretty good converters that are similarly cost-effective -- and many of them fit the Ross OpenGear frame, if you are looking for a rack mount solution.
