Convert Powerpoint (and others) to PNG

Some of us would like something other than Powerpoint files sent to
us for placement in the weekly presentation.

I found this Java application that is easy to use.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/jscreengrabber/

It does require Java to run which is good because java runs on
most OS. (Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X)

Copy to your desktop. Double click on JScreenGrabber.
It places a red rectangle on your screen. Bring up Powerpoint
Presenter and maximize your screen. Adjust the size and location
of the rectangle to surround the image desired. Click capture button
(looks like a 35mm camera), it will ask where to place the PNG file.

You can set a default folder and each time you capture an image,
the name of the image will increment. (img1.png img2.png etc.)
Ideal when there are dozens of slides to be converted!

In PPT2003, File/Save as/Save as type, select .png. and then select either all slides or the current slide. Save in a folder where you want 'em. Or am I misunderstanding something?

Still, that looks like a handy utility--thanks!

frank,

I was never a fan of PP. Thanks for informing me and others of the built-in
function.

For training manuals that you need a screen shot, I am sure this screen grabber will
come in handy.
