Question Photoshop For Newbies

I'm a newbie in Photoshop. Any tutorial ideas to just teach me the basics?

Check your local public library for a book/DVD called "Classroom in a Book" for your version of Photoshop. They are published by Adobe, and pretty decent introductions to the basics.

seconded on the classroom books for adobe products.

And maybe a class or two at the convention...either in person or virtual?
