Glare Corection

Help I am trying to fix some photos that were taken for our church directory. Some of the folks are wearing glasses and have a glare on them from the flash. I have PSE 5 to do the editing. I tried using the healing brush, but it is still leaving a spot where the glare was. Any suggestions.

change the glasses to shades.

Or you could add a touch of Gaussian blur to the area and see if that helps

Or try the smudge tool around the edge of the spot.

How many images are you talking about? Can you post a sample for us to have a go at?

One thing I do often is to use the polygonal lasso tool to select the side of the glasses w/o a glare and then hit cntl + j to copy that to a new later then I flip it horizontally and move it over the side with the glare to fix the problem. Does that make sense?

I was going to recommend the lasso tool or clone stamp.

This is the same technique that I use in most cases with a little masking around the edges to blend it in.

Does Elements 5 have a patch tool under the healing brush tool set? If so that would work better than the healing brush in that it doesn't try to blend as much with the original area.

Sorry so long

All right everyone. Sorry it has been almost 3 weeks, but we moved from our apartment to a home we purchased. Lot of painting and ripping up floors. Here is a sample of what I am working with. I tried to use the healing brush, but it leaves a spot above the eye. First one is regular. Second one is one i tried to fix. I only tried to fix one of his eyes. Help
