| Animated GIF's One of the nice things about PPT2000 is it's ability to run animated GIF files. But there are only a limited number of these available (most of the ones I have found are downloaded from the Microsoft Clip art site.) Does anyone know how to create these animated GIF's (and, of course, if you can tell me how)? Just wondering. Steve Posted by Steve Goad on Jan 30, 2001. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Check out Gif Animator by Ulead. http://www.ulead.com/ga/runme.htm Animated gifs usually run around 8 frames per second. This is so they will download quickly on the web. What's cool about makeing your own is that you can save them at a higher frame rate. Since you are running them from your hard drive, you can get better looking animations. Anyone know of other gif animation programs out there? Posted by Tim Eason on Jan 30, 2001. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You could use a program such as adobe photoshop 5.5 or 6. Included with photoshop is a program called imageready it allows you to control the file size of your images and place the in frames for animation. Some I can use some I can't. Although they aren't Christian in nature, some are real cute. Cindy Seay Posted by Cindy Seay on Jan 31, 2001. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We have found that if you take a gif into GIF Construction Set by Alchemy Mindworks you can Save it in AVI format and then use it in PowerPoint. The program can be found at www.mindworkshop.com/alchemy/alchemy Posted by Paul Williams on Feb 2, 2001. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Microsoft PhotoDraw can also create Animated GIFS that you can use in Powerpoint. It's particularly good at animating text for scrolling across a screen for example in a slide that you'd do for an announcement or something like that. Posted by Jim Klinck on Feb 6, 2001. |
