Ideas for business card size promo piece

I'm looking for ideas for a business card size promo piece...can be two sided.
We're planning our First Annual Community Candy Bash for Halloween night. We're planning to have food, games, inflatables, etc.
Everything is free.

Any thoughts on how to design a piece that size?
I'm thinking if we give our folks something they can easily carry...they'll be more likely to promote it.

Make a very catchy Logo type graphic that tells at least half your story.
Give it a name that is self-explanatory.

If you're able to print full bleed color, they look terrific, and really get noticed with a dramatic and colorful background.

Beyond that ... as little info as possible, just like a business card.

If you decide to use the back, put things on there that visitors will need to know. Nursery during service? Mid-week youth? Times? Programs for kids on Sunday? Website Address? Denomination? Cleared Children's and Youth workers?

what about a graphic similar to this, just add the text
These kinds of invites are great, kids love them. We did this for VBS and also as invites to regular church services.

We make up "postcard" inviters (4/letter-sized page) and have them printed up at a local shop if we want colour. They're full-colour glossy on the front and matte b/w on the back. I do up a colourful image on the front with just the name of the event and the date and all of the details, a map to the church, etc. go on the back. If we want to hand out more than we can afford to print up in colour (they're $0.24 per postcard), we print in black & white on cardstock right here in the office and that costs us more like a penny per postcard! We've also got clear plastic literature holders that we hang on the bulletin board in our lobby so that we can have the inviter cards right underneath a poster for the event and it's easier to get people to grab a few to hand out to their neighbours and they're big enough for people to stick on their fridges to remind themselves to come to the event!

Vista Print is pretty cheap. I'm a reseller but if you go direct to the visitaprint website you can often get "Free Samples" by paying for shipping.
Also, you can buy business card stock and print them yourself (probably best way).
I purchased for myself a business card cutter which cuts card stock down to business card size - you print your cards 10 to a sheet and then rum them through the cutter. (Much cheaper then using buseinss card preforated stock).

Halloween Reachout - we have a Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat at the Church. We serve hot dogs, drinks, nachos and chips. We have games for the kids and give out prizes and candy. In the parking lot we line up our vehicles, everyone comes in costume or decorates the trunk of their car or the bed of their pickup and the kids have a safe place to trick or treat. We've been doing it for about 6 years now. Last year we had over 250 kids as well as their parents. Our community loves this safe alternative to what some call a questionable holiday.
