Sermon Notes Worksheets

Over the years I have seen several churches that have a standard sermon "Note Taking" form that they hand out for the service. Some are generic, some take on the outline of the sermon with fill in the blanks for note taking. Does your church have something like this? Please post some example templates.

Thanks
Andy

no templates here-but our pastor creates a fill in the blank insert from his sermon outline. It lines up directly with the ppt presentation, so that the fill in the blank is up on screen.

We provide fill in the blanks. I have attached a PDF of the form. I also have a cheat sheet that we put on our website.

Our pastor creates a sheet with a list of key words to track how many times he uses during the sermon.

Kids who keep track, get a piece of candy at the end of the service when they show him the list.

Here's the sermon handout from last week, we print them double sided, and cut them in half in this format.

Some weeks his notes are twice as long, it takes an entire page, folded into a little 4 page format.

The other format we use is for a guest speaker, and we make one up that has lines on one side, and a journal page format on the back side. [Also attached] Sometimes the guest speaker will give us a title, and that will be added to the top with their name. Sometimes they don't know that much when we go to print.

Hopefully this is moderately useful, entertaining, inspiring, or just educational.

Ours is printed in the bulletin each week, so it changes weekly. It follows the on-screen sermon points so people can just fill in the blank.

We have no sermon notes worksheet, just a part of the bulletin that is blank for note taking. Pastors in the past have used worksheets off an on. Currently, we have none.

I hadn't come across this "fill in the blanks" thing at all - is it a North American thing? Last time I had a "fill in the blanks" worksheet like that was in chemistry at high school. (I hated chemistry!)

I've seen it for seminars, but never in a service. For our Youth service we take our own notes, as some things might stick out to different people, depending on what their life is like.

I don't know - before we came to church, I spent decades as a Mormon. So, my experience is only what it is.

Both the churches we attended before we landed here hand small fill-in-the-blanks handouts, too.

However, isn't diversity grand? We can all still believe in Jesus, and some can choose to have handouts in their church, and others not. And it's all right to do.

I still marvel at that concept. And it's been 20 years since we were freed by the true and living Lord.

Ditto here. In addition to the morning outline being on the bulletin, there are sheets (half a 8.5x11") that have the morning outline on one side, the evening outline on the other. We 3-hole punch them to go into notebooks that our members can get to keep their completed outlines and notes in.
