Small church poster

hi everyone. we have a really small church and we are still renting the space where we hold our services at. It is a community hall and hold a few functions each weak. i thought it will be a great way to let other people know about our church. i should add the fact that im no where near a design guru but I've tried my best. i would appreciate your feedback and any impression that it might make and if it is eye catching. can you please also rate it on a scale of 1-10 (1 being the worst 10 being the best). please let me know if you cannot see the attachment (this is my first post and im not all clear about how things work around here).
Thanks,
Sam

Hey, we all started as beginners. I like the basic concept.

I'm not wild about the stone age font. I'd go with a more solid font. If you want a futuristic font, you could check out the SciFi collection at dafont.com.

If you want just a nice clean look, poke around in their San Serif collection. I would go with a fairly heavy font to show up against that background.

Also, I think you may have too much outer glow on "God's Beloved Children". The text doesn't stand out.

Ditto to what Joel said. Also, I'd just go ahead and make the text at the bottom a light color (nearly white) instead of dark with an outer glow. It'll look cleaner and be easier to read. Rather than a hard-edged area that's darker, you might try a gradient that eases into the darker background at the bottom.

Yeah, the glow around "God's Beloved Children" was the first thing I noticed. Love each other is also difficult to read.
Which font is an opinion kind of thing, no real right or wrong (in MHO) but readability is a major concern.
