simple logo

after working on a logo for a new blog for one of the pastors (thanks sumobritches!) I figured I would take another look at our main logo, which is pretty simple. I've lost the original files, so I only have it as a jpeg. I went ahead & did a quick recreation in AI for you folks.

Not looking for a drastic redesign or anything, just maybe a little update. Anyone? Bueller?...

The only minor changes I can think of are maybe fatten the outlines on the text a little to improve legibility, and tweak the right side so the top and bottom pieces align (as attached.) Bigger changes could be something like new fonts.

thanks Gene.
the alignment was a result of me being in a hurry. I agree the text needed a bolder outline. I've been playing with the kerning as well. Wouldn't mind changing the font (this design is pretty tired...)

any fonts anyone is in love with?...

I always just browse through DaFont.com for font inspiration.

I like Harabara, but I'm not sure how it would work in a logo.

Attached is a version using Elegance, which is similar to ITC Kabel.
