Prices for work

I showed a friend a print out of the Wedding Shower Announcement and she liked what I did on it, she then asked how much I would charge to do something like that for her and her fiance. I have no clue. most of the pics i have done have been for the church, no pay, or just for fun. I have no clue as to what to charge for this service. If anyone has any Idea please give me a price range for whenever someone asks this question please tell me.

If you dont have an idea of any prices by the hour, then just a flat rate, but be sure to cap your amount of time (ie:4-5 hours).

I'd charge a flat fee of $150 on the design work and then double on what a professional printer charges if they want the added convenience of you providing them with the enitre package. Some people like to make their money upfront on the production side of it (which is a very fair way of doing business) but I prefer to give them a deal on the front end and them make my money back on duplication.

Most times it comes out to be the same costs but I think people believe that they are getting more for their money because they can actually "see" what every copy costs.
