Projector [Poll Closed - See New Poll] Which software do you use for displaying songs?

Vote for the software that you use for displaying songs (maybe you use a different program for sermon notes, etc). If you choose "other", let us know what it is! Don't be offended if your software is not listed. Feel free to let us know what you like/dislike about your software. NO SOFTWARE WARS!

I have been using MediaShout 2.5 for about 2 years, and just switched to V3. At first I had some difficulty getting used to the new look and features in the GUI, but now I "get" it and am really enjoying it.

The feature I think I'll like the most is the ability to show a clip from a DVD within the program, playing the clip from the computer's DVD drive. It allows you to set start and stop points. Now no one will ask me to "rip" clips off a DVD anymore!

Glad to see a new poll!

We have used Song Show Plus since 1999. Back then there was not a lot to choose from and our primary need was to use an external database like CCLI Song Select that we already owned. PowerPoint was not an option for displaying songs for us. SSP was way ahead of the game back then. Since then there are many to choose from!

Songshow Plus

We use songshow plus at our church. We have been using it since I first investigated worship software. That was over 2 years ago. We love it! We are able to show songs with moving backgrounds behind them as well as images behind them. Songshow Plus comes with thousands of moving backgrounds that I am able to adjust on the fly if I want. I can enlarge the size of the snow or stars and change the speed of the rotation of a circle. On the images panel, I am able to darken up or blur the image so I don't have to make those adjustments in Photoshop. If it is too bright or too busy, I can adjust it while the words are on the screen. I can also change the spellings while the words are on the screen. We are also able to use bible software and we have the ability to show many many versions of the bible "on the fly". I can import songs from CCLI, powerpoint and the clipboard with 1 click. I can also set up the program and each song so that alls the operator has to do is push the + key to go through the whole thing. When I format a song it stays the same so each time I add it to the program, it is the same as it was the time before. That means I can put together a whole program in less than 10 minutes. I am also able to use the Slideshow builder to build sermon and announcement slides and once again, I can use moving backgrounds for those.

I could go on and on. Version 7 is getting ready to come out and promises to be even better!

Karen

We were using SSP until the upgrade to 5.5 when we ran into random crashing.

We decided to make the switch to EW. I do miss the customization of SSP but the majority of the "screen runners" are happy with the "powerful simplicity". (fewer crashes are nice too )

...BTW, the crashing is more of a hardware thing.

We use PowerPoint 2000 running on a laptop. We use it to display song lyrics, sermon notes, and announcements. Right now, it does everything we need it to do. Eventually, I would like to upgrade becasue I see the leadership wanting to do more with media presentation in the furture. But until then, PowerPoint 2000 does the job for us.

Im with Josh. Open source is for me. So Im with openSong. Although I wouldnt mind giving SSP a test drive.

With all that said our church will be using WorshipHim software because the creator of the software is a member of my church

We use PowerPoint 2000, so of course I promptly voted for PowerPoint XP.

Sometime *I* am just a tool.

At our church we use Song Show. However I just set my parent's, who are missionaries, up with OpenSong and needless to say I was quite impressed. Not as polished as a lot of the big name WS, but for a small church (small budget) it does have a lot of the required functionality. (And being a big lover of open source software, that is just cool!)

Prologue Sunday Plus (currently version 2.4.2) At first I didn't like it, but I have discovered that it is very good program. It is one of the simplest programs to run, yet it has as good of a feature list as any of the other worship software. Apparrently Grass Roots is redesigning it for the next version and I can't wait to see it.
