Different background picture per verse/chorus?

Our family worship leader likes to make visually pleasing song lyrics with a variety of different background per-song (changing every verse and chorus). At the moment she has done this in PowerPoint which isn't flexible enough to be switched at speed. The result is that the wrong words get projected (or even the wrong song!).

Is anyone aware of worship software that allows the background image to be set on a per-verse/chorus basis? Lots have background images, but usually at the song level.

Thanks for any pointers!

ProPresenter allows you to change backgrounds for each song all the way to each individual slide. Also, you can manually change backgrounds on the fly with one click.

Yep, ProPresenter can (and you can change those associations later as you like with relative ease). I don't think Songshow can, at least I don't remember being able to in the last version we used. It's not something I needed it to do, so I didn't look much into it. Not sure about Mediashout (I spent all of two hours with it about four years ago).

I'm not sure that I understand the description, but FWIW, years ago when all I had was PP, I just made 1 presentation with the scheduled songs in order, using 'black' slides and/or filler slides in between the songs.

Thus, no "switching" between different ppt's

You can select the background on individual slides in MediaShout. It was a feature adding in and is in 4.5 but I don't remember when they added it.

SSP has two options, either make the song a slide show which is linked to the song itself or to use background improv. I have not used either, but the improv is the most flexible, and is an on the fly change.

ProPresenter. It was designed with this capability from the beginning.

I know MediaShout has done that for a long time now but you might want to talk to your worship leader and see if it can be toned down. That is another one of those "just because you can doesn't mean you should" type of things. If she wants to have multiple backgrounds she should focus on the mood of the song rather than the song element and in my opinion you shouldn't use more than three. Also, baby boomers are the ones who like all the backgrounds the most, along with their kids if they haven't individuated.

ProPresenter is definitely the easiest program to do this with. You just drag a video or image from the media bin onto a slide and it's done. You can also choose them on the fly. MediaShout can do this as well, to a degree, but it's not nearly as smooth or seamless as it is in ProPresenter.

VideoPsalm does that, with one click. Live too, and with smooth transition.
