Can you run presentation software from a USB stick?

I don't know much about the different programs, but I think most of them will be better for us than Power Point.

I'm looking into this for our bible study on a college campus. What we do is slides for announcements, music, and an occasional video.

It's the video that frustrates me. It's almost always the wrong aspect ratio, they can never get it to full screen mode properly, and and it never just plays right. They always need to start it and stop it a few times.

The way they do things is that whoever runs the projector that night, used his own laptop. It works out ok because every student own MS Office. But if I want to use presentation software, then it would either need to free and very easy to instal, or better yet run on a USB stick that can be moved for PC to PC. And all of them use Windows, it can't be a Mac only program.

Do you have any suggestions?

thanks,
~Jay

I am not familiar with the capabilies of the free worship software, but there are several of them to try.

I've heard that Screen Monkey is a good (free) way of showing video and stills.

But I've not heard of a portable app version of any of them.

I wonder if Proclaim would do what you want? I think I'd take a look at that.

I was just playing with Screen Monkey, that's a really great solution!

I just need to figure out a few things with it.

-Can you use Powerpoint in presentation mode?
-does it reduce the resolution of videos? The one clip I used didn't look as good in screen monkey as it did in Windows Media Player.
