Hi All,
finally I made it to this web site! I was looking for a looooong time for something like this! Thank you soo much for all your great help!
So... this is my first post
I do have a question which I was I either to stupid to find the answer for it or this has never been asked for... Please forgive if the first is true...
I am searching for a Presentation Software which is capable of displaying a song with an translation. For example English as the Main Language and German as the translation language.

Thank's for your help!

We just built a system for a church in Chicago with a Chinese population. The way they are handling this is to build the presentation in one language, and then go back and save it in the second language (both presentations are in PowerPoint, but this would work with any presentation program). Then they are using a Video Genie DS1 Matrix Switcher to decide which screen is showing which version of the presentations (design was built with 2 front of house LCD projectors, and 2 LCD screens in the balcony). The operator has 2 PC's, and forwards each presentation to the next slide at the same time. They sometimes have the left screens on one language, and the right screens on the other language, other times they show one language on the LCD projectors, and the other language in the balcony. This approach lets them build the screens with easily legible font sizes and comfortable graphic layouts. If you try to run with both languages on all screens, you get crowded really fast, or you have to really limit what is shown on the screen.

What is your worship center configuration?

welcome-glad you found us.

Presentation Manager and Pro Presenter are the two doing this currently-not sure of the status of that on MediaShout 4.

Presentation manager, at least, allows the two different songs to be linked and displayed on two different screens, or allows for a split screen say top and bottom with different languages in both.

The worship genie product mentioned above will work, as a hardware solution-but then you'd need two different worship pc's to feed it (though thinking about it, Presentation manger might still work with it, by sending both feeds to the genie).

With Kbob's comments added to the mix, the decision matrix for this application is as follows:

Do you want to have the translation on a single screen or 2 different screens? Single is not as desireable, but is your only choice if you only have one projection screen. If you have 2 or more Front Of House projectors, it is much more effective to have each language on its own screen.

If you go with the double screen, you can either use presentation software that supports running multiple outputs like the ones mentioned above, or you can use 2 different computers to generate the images.

After you have your 2 images (Original Language and Alternate Language) coming out of one or more computers, you will probably want to use some sort of matrix switching solution to switch between the split mode and the times where you want the same image on all of the projectors.

Song Show Plus will allow you to diaplay multiple languages simultaneously. The slides show builder is a replacement of Power point but much more powerful. Make sure you download Song Show Plus 7, Presentation Manager and Pro Presenteer (MAC BASED) to see what program works the best for you.

Hi All,
thank you for your quick replay!
We have one single center screen. What I have in mind is that we are singing (or showing for that matter) one song, let's say in English and below every line the German translation is showing, in an smaller font. When we like to sing the same Song in German we simply press a button and the whole thing changes around. But maybe I ask for to much?

I don't think you are going to find that automatically anywhere.

Were I to want to do this in SongShow Plus, I would export the song from the song library into an SSP slide show. Then go in and add the German in the slide show, alternate lines and smaller font, as you are looking for.

Then I would clone each slide, e.g. Verse 1, and make Verse 1 G. Then edit slide Verse 1 G and switch the lines and font sized around, as you wish.

This would take a while as you build your song library. But it would give you push button access to any verse in either language.

And once your song library was built, it would only be a matter of adding new songs as they come.
