Has anyone ever had this problem?

I have been attempting to use a trial of Media Shout, the problem is when I click on a song or on one of the other song names my computer makes this beep sound. It is like a "error" beep or something. Then I tried to use SSP and it did the same thing in that program. All my sounds associated with windows is turned off. I have been told that it may be a problem with Vista and maybe I need to wipe out my laptop and go back to XP (thinking that MAY solve the problem). Has anyone had a similar experience with an idea of how to fix this problem? I really like Media Shout and I am hoping to use it, but I am not real excited about starting from scratch with my computer.

Is your Vista set up as dual screen with the Windows desktop extended to the second screen, rather than cloned?

I don't use Vista so I haven't tried this myself, but there was discussion of the problem over at the MS forums. Two solutions mentioned: (1) disable the system beep or (2) replace the default beep with a sound file with nothing but silence.

I disabled the beep and I can not tell you how happy I am that I do NOT have to redo my whole system!!!!!! Thank you!

Alternatively, you can retain the beep and place the computer frame in a sound-isolated room.
