Projected Worship Music Fonts

I have been playing around with some different fonts used for Worship at our Sunday night service and was wondering what font works well for you?

Let me know what the font name is and I will try it out for myself.

I typically use a sans serif font like Arial or Tempo Grunge

Phil is on the ball.

Don't use serif fonts for anything that people need to read quickly (i.e. songs, scripture references)

According to research, printed materials read better and easier with serif fonts while websites and presentations read better with sans serif.

I tend to use the standards like Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, Myriad, etc. then dress up the background.

We've been using Eras Demi ITC. We were using Eras Bold, but we decided we wanted more size and less weight.

I use Bookman Old Style, 48, bold, and italicized. Nice sized, easily readable and not too bland.

of course, the font size is entirely room-dependent (a 6-foot screen in a 100-seat room is a LOT different than a 6-foot screen in a 2,000 auditorium, know what i mean?)

Ya, no worries about font size here... the font name is the only thing I am wondering about.

Thanks for all the font names!

for verdana. Any of the more legible condensed fonts could work as well though-such as clarendon condensed, franklin gothic demi condensed

Verdana. It was designed for web use and projection happens at the same resolution, so it is generally very readable on screen. I use plain for stuff in the liturgy that the pastor says, and bold for anything the congregation says or sings.

I've found Arial to be too tight for good readability in our sanctuary -- Verdana is a bit wider at a given pointsize. But I'm intrigued by some of the other options people have listed.
