| Final Cut to After Effect the FREE way! Sorry if this is a long post but I've figured out a very nice workflow over the last few weeks. I had a video project for Easter I was working on. It was a 2 camera shot of a testimony. The two cameras were a Sony PDX-10 and a Sony DSR-200. Final Cut's color corrector wasn't cutting it, I wanted to use Color Finesse's secondary color correction. You can see the finished videos here as well as some before and after screen shots. I knew Automatic Duck would do it well but I didn't want to drop $495. So I found a few scripts on line: -Creative Workflow Hacks -Popcorn Island Both these scripts take an XML file from FCP and import it into AE. They have their limitations. But for most projects I do they work well. If you're working in an editor that can't export an XML file. You can try Magnum Edit Detector. It scans your video layer and will "auto" detect any scene changes. I found it to work quite well but it can take awhile depending on your computer and video format. These scripts are saving me a ton of time and just wanted to share the great resource! |
