70" Flat Panels Needed

We are moving to a new building and are going to switch from a screen to two 70" flat panel displays (16x9).
Anyone have any recommendations (and if you sell them please feel free to include a price).
I'd like 70" or larger 65" is the bare minimum.
I also want an LCD as I want to stay away from DLP's and Plasma.
They are going to be mounted forward and on each side of the platform and we will (eventually) have a screen and projector in the middle as well.

Thanks

Hyundai IT has 70" and 82" digital signage LCD solutions http://www.hyundaiit.com/
I no longer carry those.

Panasonic doesn't have anything LCD in that size, but they do have an 85" plasma.
Available through Fortress Productions

The largest Sony has is 65" - available through Fortress Productions

Samsung has 70" LCD's

Sharp has 60", 70" and 80" LCD's

Bout all I could think of.

Any reason why you no longer carry them? (The hundai)
Also, could you email me some specs and prices on a 65" Sony (We'd need two of them)

Thanks

The only reason is that they changed manufacturer's reps. I had sold several of their displays in the past, including 3 to a local restaurant, and they love them.
I can querry from the new manufacturer's rep to see what my access to them would be.
The Sony unit lists at $28,000.00.

We've been looking at home units in the $1,500 to 2,000 range - $28,000 is more then the entire budget for new audio/video/computer equipment.

Wow - I guess quality costs.

Sharp has a 70" for around $2k or just over. It's one that we have been looking at. Their 80" is more like $5k.

Sony's largest consumer is 60".

Be careful of the warranties on "consumer" products. Some manufacturers will not stand by the warranty if used in a "commercial" application such as a church installation. Read them before you buy.

If you buy the Sharp through an authorized commercial dealer, their consumer grade products are warrantied in a commercial setting. Their 70" has a great price.

Are you sure about this? We have a relationship with Sharp and their consumer grade equipment I was told would not be warrantied in a commercial application.

Now, I can see where they could draw the line and make the distinction between a commercial setting and a commercial application.

The first would be a situation where a consumer grade device is used in a commercial setting/place but with the duty cycle/usage of a consumer device.

I don't know of any mfr that will honor a warranty for a consumer device in a commercial application. They are just not designed to handle that type of duty cycle.

The company I work for sells hundreds of them in a year, and we've never had an issue with warranty support. They are not warrantied for 24/7 operation, but we put tons of them in conference rooms, lobbies, etc. We even sell them direct to the Federal Gov't through our GSA contract, and I'm sure we couldn't sell them without a warranty to the govt. We buy direct from Sharp, and we even sell Sharp SKU extended warranties on these units from time to time. I can't remember what the standard warranty is, but I do know that this is one of the reasons we tell people to buy the panels through us and not through best buy - and I'm pretty certain we aren't just making it up.

The warranty issue is something to consider for sure but realistically it's only for 1 year and how often do you actually need to use it? This will not see a lot of use, a couple of hours a week max, so it's not like it will be pushed to it's design limits. All that said, now I'm going to knock on wood

NEC has 70" and 82" LCD displays as does Samsung Pro and Sharp has a 70" professional LCD display. Like most professional large screen display products, the warranty on all of those products is three years rather than the one year typical for consumer products. Also, while consumer warranties typically start at the date of sale, when installed by an authorized dealer professional product warranties generally start the date they are installed or first beneficial use.
