Ultra Short Throw Projector

I'm looking for a ultra short throw projector than can project 98 inches diagonally from 3 feet away from wall. Looking for under $800 price range. Any recommendations?

Nothing fits those exact specifications.

Also keep in mind that all these units have an offset.

98" diagonal with a 4:3, 16:9 or 16:10 format image? 3' to the front of the unit or does the entire thing have to fit within 3'?

The closest options I can find that might fit what you're looking for are the NEC NP-M300XS and the Mistubishi XD360U-EST, but as Mike noted these are very particular about location.

Anyone have any thoughts on the Sanyo PDG-DWL2500?

We are looking at doming something similar. Would like 130", but I can settle for around 100-110. It says it can do a 80" screen at 13", and my math says it could do a 110" at around 18". It's a little more expensive, but I am willing to go up to $1200

2500 lumens? Don't think you will be happy especially once your into the half life of the bulb. Would not go for less than 4000 lumens.

I would be an an environment where it would be mostly dark. Maybe short throws are different, but I used a regular portable projector as a test that had less than 2000 and it worked great.

Yeah, it all depends on the ambient light in the room.

The measurement for video brightness is ftL. As an example, we shoot for 70+ ftL for most church lyric projection. But this is because of ambient light. Movie theaters run in the 10-14 ftL range.

This is great information that I didn't even know I needed! Thanks all. Quite amazing that you can get a 60" to 110" image with only a couple of feet or less throw.

Keep in mind that because they use mirrors you will have to burn anywhere from 6" to 3' at the bottom or top of the image.
