We are looking at doming something similar. Would like 130", but I can settle for around 100-110. It says it can do a 80" screen at 13", and my math says it could do a 110" at around 18". It's a little more expensive, but I am willing to go up to $1200
According to the manual, -2.6" to the front of the projector (thus part of the projector is under the screen) and 12.6" from the screen to the 'front' edge of the projector for an 80" image (keeping in mind it is 16:10 format). For a 110" image those dimension are 6.26" and 21.46" from the screen. You may be able to project a larger image by moving the projector further from the screen, however you may encounter trouble with the image focus if you exceed the recommend maximum image size.

I think that what Mike was referring to is that with a floor mount arrangement then for an 80" image the bottom of the projected image will be 1.85" above the top of the projector and 8.86" above the bottom of the projector. For a 110" diagonal image the distances to the bottom of the projected image would 5.79" from the top of the projector and 12.8" from the bottom of the projector.

Note that one issue with this type of projector is that there are no ranges for the distances, all geometric and physical relationships are fixed. An image size relates to specific vertical and horizontal distances to the projector and vice versa.

A 110" diagonal, 16:10 format image is roughly 58.3" x 93.3" or approximately 37.8 square feet. 2500 lumens over 37.8 square feet is about 66ftL. That's pretty close to the 70ftL number noted, assuming a screen with a gain of 1 is used.

Bingo Brad.

On my normal 9x12 images the image begins about 3'6" off the floor.

This is what I am planning on doing with a short throw...

(lyrics will be short throw. The "brick" is from a regular projector much further away.)
