New projector help

We just received our new. Hd Projectors and hd sized screens I need some help on hooking these items up. My question is our computer is fairly new but I don't have an hdmi output on it just digital video out and VGA. We are running to a switcher to an hdmi splitter to balens then hdmi to the projector my question is without an hdmi output what's the best way to get into the switcher?

What type of inputs are available on the switcher? HDMI? And you only have VGA and digital video (SDI) available on computer? What resolution is the computer output running at?

I bet "digital video" in this case means DVI. Unfortunately no consumer equipment I know of has broadcast SDI outputs, though I wish it did.

What's the make and model of the switcher? I presume it's some sort of scaling presentation switcher rather than an HDMI crash switch, though I could be wrong.

Can you be more specific about the other devices, as in specific brands and models, and especially about the switcher? Could the computer support a new video card with a HDMI output? Depending on the other devices involved that might turn out to be a cost effective option.

Our switcher has a DVI input specifically for the computer.

What brand & model is your switcher?
What brand & model are your projectors?
