Kramer TP-120 vs. PT-120 ??

Does anybody know what's the difference between Kramer TP-120 receiver and PT-120 receiver?

http://www.kramerelectronics.com/ind...sp?name=TP-120
http://www.kramerelectronics.com/ind...sp?name=PT-120

They both seems to be DC-powered single CAT5 to single XGA signal converters and can both receive signal from same group of Kramer transmitters. Even the pricing's the same.

Only differences I found so far is their physical size and the name printed on top of the box; one says Kramer Tools and another Pico Tools.

Could be something inside the box and another discontinued or better version or something, but I'm not from the industry and cannot make the call.

Thanks in advance,
Temex

I believe the only difference is the size.
I know first hand that the TP120 will receive DC power over the Cat5 if used with the correct corresponding box on the other end.

The difference is this...

The TP-120 is the larger of the two. It can be racked with more of the same sized kramer boxes with an optional rackmount kit. The Pico Tools box, or, PT-120 is a smaller box that can be affixed under a desk or inside a rack somewhere out of the way.

Both boxes do the exact same thing. It's just a matter of how you want to mount it. I have used the WP-120 in some churches that wanted the TP-120/PT-120 solution but did not want the bulky box.

I would post a URL for the WP-120 but I haven't made 15 or more posts yet :O(
Cheers!

The other two in the original question were:
http://www.kramerelectronics.com/ind...sp?name=TP-120
and
http://www.kramerelectronics.com/ind...sp?name=PT-120

10 points for Kramer about their website! Very informative with detailed sample schematics, images, specs, etc.

Answer to the original question:
So as far as the electronic parts inside both boxes (and the plate) can be considered equal and only difference being the size/shape?

Offtopic note:
Btw, it was interesting to find out that Kramer built products that are sold under names Comprehensive and BTX brands. At least the Comprehensive branded switcher/scaler CVG-724XL seems to have 7 years of warranty compared to 3 years of Kramers own VP-724XL! Kramers own name carries lower list pricing than BTX or Comprehensive... ...at least the few products I was searching for.

Wink

I believe that Comprehensive uses the kramer AND EXTRON units they just put their name on them. Crimping/Compression tools are the same as far as that goes to. Just branding and charging more money. SHOP AROUND!!!
