| Remote control hardware This is a continuation of my camp projector project. I'll have 2 rear projection systems up in a loft. I know I can control them via a serial port or infrared. I would prefer to have both projectors controlled remotely from 1 common infrared interface. However, I didn't see anything listed on this forum and can't get any manufacturer names/part numbers from Google search. Can anyone recommend a couple of manufacturers/part numbers so I can check them out? I've received 2 quotes but there were for "bundled" systems; no part numbers given. I can understand that suppliers don't like customers to cherry pick their quotes. |

| Sysman, You could purchase and build a hard wired IR distribution system relatively inexpensively. I did this for controlling our two projectors and other IR controlled equipment in or booth from one IR receiver. Purchased it all at http://www.smarthome.com You will need at least these items listed below, other items will be necessary depending on what you want to do and your needs. 8191A 6 EMITTER CONNECTING BLOCK Price $52.99 8190 9-VOLT, 500MA POWER SUPPLY Price $12.95 8171S MINI DUAL STICK-ON IR EMITTERS $9.99 (Hot Deal! $4.99) 8186 50 FOOT EMITTER AND IR SENSOR EXTENSION CABLE Price $8.99 8110 TABLETOP IR SENSOR Price $49.99 Our initial cost for hooking up IR to the 2 projectors was about $150.00 US Good Luck |
