LED Light not working with DMX Controller

Hello

Trying to solve this problem... wondering if anyone has the light...

American DJ Pro Par 56 CWWW

It's a cool white/warm white pro par.

I can't get it to communicate with our DMX controller, it works fine on its own... but when I hook it up to the controller and assign it number 1, nothing works. I can plug any other light into the cable it's on and it works. I tried reversing the polarity on the board, no difference.

Any ideas? Will contact American DJ's forum as well. thanks.

Some ideas - Have you contacted the American DJ help phone number (800) 322-6337. I was working a job last year and the church's ADJ dimmers were acting up. They were very good on the phone and actually emailed me the schematics to help diagnose the issue. If it is working standalone, have you made sure the light is in DMX mode? From the manual it looks like there are at least 9 modes and only 2 listen for DMX. Generally - press mode until either "1XXX" or "2XXX" is displayed. Then use the up and down to address the unit. Once that is done you might try and send a 50% value on DMX 1-512. That will ensure you see something even if there are odd addressing problems.

thanks... I've put a post on their forum, but I'll give them a call tomorrow if still no success. Thanks for the number.

It's in DMX mode... I've tried 1001 and 2001 for scanner 1, but nothing. I tried other channels as well. The only question is the fact that when it's in DMX mode and has 1/2001 in the LED display on the back of the light the number is flashing... there's no 'enter' button though, just mode/up/down. I'll keep playing.
