Or a reputable internet dealer that will do the same things.

I will echo the "buy local when you can" song!

I am a volunteer at my church and often have to drum up money to support my ministry. I am often having to remind the church staff that what they Googled is not the best deal even if it is the cheapest.

Richard from Silhouette lights is in my home town and I do my best to patronize them. Infact I will tell a story on Silhouette and about the good service they provide. Denny from Silhouette rented me a dimmer pack that kept overheating. He made a trip on a Friday night driving through a snow storm to the church. I was busy operating for a rehearsal so he climbed a ladder in the dark up to the batton to change out the dimmer for me! And it turned out that it was my own fault that the dimmer was overheating. He never charged us for that service and never even mentioned the "OE". That is service!

Last week I paid a $65 bench charge to another local vendor to have a diaphram dropped into one of the horns for my speakers. I have done this repair myself a couple of times and it is not worth the $65 dollars, but it is worth the fact that I did not have to chase the part down and the fact that they will guarantee the install. It also is important because I need that company to stay in business and continue to provide their specialized services.

Even when I have to purchase an item that is significantly less online and there is no noticable advantage to purchasing local I will offer the a bid to my local guys and see if they can meet me somewhere in the middle. More often than not they will do their best to get close to the online prices.
