| Forked Thread: Art.518 vs Art.520 Forked from: working with 208V 3 phase Quote:
I am glad to read your response and find you have joined this interesting forum. There is a question that I am asking various professionals around the country and am interested in your thoughts as it relates to your work in Texas. This question arises as I see many existing church facilities now being used in new ways that change the utilization assumptions thereby changing the code classification and requirements. Maybe new construction is keeping up with the requirements for theatrical technology, but I'm not even sure of that except, hopefully, in mega-church size facilities with the budgets to hire the appropriate theatrical consultants. In your experience, are church facilities being designed and constructed acording to NEC Article 518 (Assembly Occupancies) rules or are Article 520 (Theaters, Audience Areas of Motion Picture and Televison Studios, Performance Areas, and Similar Locations) rules being applied?
