Red face Leprecon LPX-24 - losing show settings

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum...this is my first post actually

My church has a Leprecon LPX-24 console for all of our lighting in the main worship center. Personally I love this board and it has never given me any trouble...until recently; Yesterday when we fired it up for our evening service we found that all of our settings were completely gone, all of our playbacks, custom dimmer patches etc. gone! It was like everything was back to factory default. *insert panic here* I had made a backup a few months ago and was able to restore from that and get everything up and running again for the most part...but I spent a considerable amount of time working with our intelligent lighting and had some neat looks saved from last weekend...those are gone forever unfortunately. Anyway now every time I power down the board it loses everything I have saved...only way to restore the show is backup from floppy disk. I've done some googling on this issue but haven't found much. I'm assuming there may be some sort of internal battery similar to a computer motherboard, but this is just a guess. I thumbed through the user manual as well as Leprecon's website...both were of little help. I'm pretty much the only one at my church that does anything extensive with lighting, so I've ruled out the possibility of someone messing with it. I'm at a loss, any ideas?

EDIT: I just realized I posted this in the wrong section, not sure how to move it...my bad

Welcome to this crazy place!

Sounds like a memory battery to me as well. I'd have thought the X24 would be new enough that the keepalive battery should be good for a few more years, but I could be wrong.

You have just proven the usefulness of backups.

I kept waiting to hear how MediaShout was involved. I was thinking "now how could MediaShout be causing his lighting control to malfunction?" I've had people request lighting control integration with MediaShout before, but I was not aware that it had become a feature

Haha no my post had nothing whatsoever to do with MediaShout, however controlling light cues via MediaShout might be kinda nice... *thinks*

But no really it was just me not paying attention and I posted in the wrong section I was simply overcome with the vastness of this place (think kid in a candy store) ...there's a lot of stuff to take in here

Still haven't figured out what's going on with our light board though.

On the MediaShout forum there are people who do control lights with MS through a Midi cable and playing commands as sound files.
I want to try this but have not had the time yet.
