That's sort of on the hairy edge of needing to joing the tinfoil hat club. I could understand that level of precaution with a "production" machine when loading new software, drivers, browsers, or browser extensions like cool iris. But not for just going to a new webpage. You can't possibly be building a new PC image every time you go to a webiste you haven't been to before...

I gave cool iris a try last week when this got posted, and pretty much forgot it was installed.

Then today I went to someone's myspace page, looking at their photo gallery. I noticed a new icon on the image, and clicked on it. Pretty cool it launched Cool Iris to display the mypage photos!

I jsut tried it on another gallery site, pBase.com, and it didn't work there, so must be something configured to handle myspace, not sure if on the code myspace puts out or the program is set to recognise myspace.

Still cool. Wish the SeachMe.com had the navigation of CoolIris

nodding in agreement here-I keep a browser around just for unknown sites, and have my main browser set to disallow any unknown sites from loading cookies and/or scripts/add-ons. they can be easily enabled, once I see that a site is ok to use....

but I at least check out sites that are recommended by others-best way to find something newer and better sometimes is to listen to those that have been there before us...

Ok, you got me. Actually most of my computers are indeed for production purposes and I usually have one on standby to experiment with. It's the one that I use to run Yahoo Messenger and the other senseless knick-knacks that slow the machine down.
