| *cue the Google is evil dvd* Google is not evil, they have Privacy Policies, everything is encripted. Your safe. Google also does a lot of enterprise stuff too, that's where they get their money. Gmail Premium is another area they get their money. Google Earth Premium. Besides, what would Google do with your info, they are bound by law to keep your info safe.

| I think both of you have points. I don't think it's wise to totally dismiss privacy issues, and whether or not we want to live in an "advertising is everywhere" world. Then again, while I haven't agreed with all of Google's decisions all the time, I have not found their use of my private data to be onerous. |

| (Potential) Privacy issues aside, while I'm happy to see Google doing their thing, I'm really disappointed to have yet another browser to support. Initially it won't have a big impact, but as news spreads, I'm sure I'll be seeing questions along the lines of "Do our sites support Chrome? How difficult would it be to support it?" I'm already not looking forward to the potential support issues when IE8 releases as a recommended update. I'd much prefer to see a bit of consolidation in the browser industry, or at least get everyone to agree on a common page rendering engine and build features on top of that. |

| I am pretty excited for google's new browser, and I love their products, but google has one thing missing that will hold them back from world wide domination of the desktop... there apps are freaky ugly. They needs a designer to make it look better, and they need things skinnable, and they need to include a few built in skins..... white and baby powder blue is a terrible look... |
