Screwtape

Last night I took SWMBO to see Max Mclean perform CS Lewis' The Screwtape Letters off broadway. It was great. Max is a very talented actor and the founder of the Fellowship for the Performing Arts. He does several one man shows - Genesis, and Mark are two of his best. He's also recorded several audio versions of the Bible. If you ever see that he's going to perform nearby - don't miss it.

The Screwtape Letters

We had an audio version with John Cleese reading it. That was really fun. The inflections in his voice were priceless.

If you liked reading the Screwtape letters, I highly recommend Lord Foulgrin's Letters and The Ishbane Conpiracy by Randy Alcorn.

Yes, both of those are good, but nothing beats "The Screwtape Letters" or "Screwtape Purposes a Toast." I hope it's good!

I also have Cleese's version, and love it!

In the genre, I also recommend "The Philippian Fragment". It's more fluff, but still lots of fun.

Cleese appears to be only avialable (actually out of production) on cassette. There is a new unabridged version available on cd narrated by: Ackland Joss. If Cleese is available on CD, and not $100 used like some of the cassettes I saw, I would be interested.

Last time I looked, the Cleese version was available at Aubible.com for download.

Looks like it's $10.95 for a non-member.

Last time I used Audible, you could burn your content to CD for your own personal use.
