| Too Many Logos? Our church has undergone some major transformations over the past year, with 2011 promising to be just as exciting. We have new ministries popping up all over, which is great. The question I have is that with every ministry wanting its own "identity", how much individual branding is too much? It occured to me that at some point we would seem splintered. Has anyone dealt with this, and if so how? Should we seek some sort of standardization? |

| My thought is that it would be good to have some sort of unifying concept across the logos, a key word or element or font or something that would tie them together. How many is too many depends on the church.

| My church has over 100 different ministries (140 I think) but almost every one has it's own branding. None have a unifying anything, but it doesn't seem bad to me. I like individual branding...however our college/singles ministry is a bit over the top with it. They request a new logo every season and it's pretty pathetic. Because of that and a few other things, they've become the joke of our church. So, my advice, if the ministries are getting their own branding, make sure they keep it for a long time, cause redoing it every time they getting bored is pathetic. |

| It does seem silly but that group is a very tough ministry. If you're fishing with worms and the fish are biting minnows the smart thing to do is change bait. The logos may just be a small part of a package of "bait".

| I think all of them should have there own logos but a really small element should be common in them. Try something which doesn't bother them and they feel they can still express themselves. Maybe you should talk with them about this question. What do they think about it? |
